"On Night Patrol" ( (しん) () () (まわ) りにて Shin'ya no Mimawari nite?) is the eighteenth chapter of the Shadows House manga series. It is adapted into Episode 4 of the anime.

Summary[]

Emilico meets up with her new teammates, the male Doll introduces himself as Shaun but the other is too timid to speak. After four days of no findings, Shaun brings blankets and decides that sleeping should be the best option, which the other two reluctantly do as well. The timid Doll cries and then reveals her name is Rum after reassurance from Emilico that she is not an unwanted child. All of a sudden, Shaun notices that someone is approaching...

Plot[]

Meeting with her new group members, Emilico introduces herself and asks for the names of the other Dolls. The male Doll introduces himself as Shaun, but the one nicknamed "Incompetent" is too shy to give hers. The three set off to investigate, accidentally losing Shaun due to his bad eyesight, then "Incompetent" as she is scared of the dark, finally the three all hold hands to not get lost. After four days of no findings, Shaun brings in blankets to sleep as his fatigue had affected his performance during the day. Emilico is worried about "Incompetent" as she may be disposed and brings out a map drawn by Mia, given to her some days before, and asks her fellow Dolls to help her only for Shaun to offer them spare blankets. The three try to sleep for the night, with Shaun admitting he disliked Barbie which is why he helped Emilico earlier. "Incompetent" begins to cry, feeling that it is her fault for having caused Emilico and Shaun trouble and that she is an unwanted child. Emilico happily reassures her that she is not unwanted and is happy that she is finally speaking, asking her name. "Incompetent" reveals her name is Rum. Shaun suddenly notices something, with the group suddenly noticing the appearance of a humanoid figure...
